Well the past few months have been a little difficult with health issues! Back to normal now. Have been sewing clothes for myself and my daughters instead of making bags for a change!

This month I decided to hold a stall at my son's primary school fete. In order to give it my best I sewed for 10-14 hours a day for a few weeks making new bags, wallets, backpacks etc. I was quite pleased with the sales for that day so am thinking of doing a few more markets leading up to Christmas.
Earlier in the month I made myself a period costume to wear at an art event with The Half Dozen Group Of Artists here in Brisbane. Had to wear that to the fete as it was great advertising for my costume making skills! Didn't get any costume orders though! Been a very busy six months! In January I moved to Brisbane Australia! Very tropical. Taking quite a while to get everything set up. I have managed to find a painting group but still haven't located my art supplies. Need to get organised! Have managed to sew a quilt for a school donation!!! Pictures soon to follow!
A couple of weeks ago I took a day workshop of screen printing. Was quite fun and relaxing. I used two of the prints to make a laptop bag for my daughter.
Also made a baby pillow to go with it and a carry case which doubles as a changing pad. Was such a pleasure to sew wondering if i should sew quilts to sell?!
Having a bit of a difficult time with painting at the moment! The Hobson's Bay Art Society SPRING SHOW is going up next week. Allways happy to enter 2 paintings but being confused about spring. As I'm from Canada spring immediately brings to mind melting snow! Not sure if Australians will really relate! Anyway thinking of entering this acrylic painting I've titled spring Flurries. Still working on a second one!!!
I really struggle with sketching and feel rather inept with water colors however this week I did this little sketck of Tom Waits which I'm really pleased with. I love the looseness and ease I felt while doing it. I was cramped for space as i was parked and behind the wheel waiting for my daughter's soccor game to start. But the whole thing was done in about 15 minutes. Why isn't all my art so quick and easy
